HAGATNA, Guam\u2014Pacific Islands Development Bank is proud to announce and welcome Dwight P. Heine as the bank\u2019s vice president. <\/p>\n
In that capacity, Heine will be assisting the president and CEO in leading the overall management and operation of the bank. Specific duties and responsibilities include strategic planning and budgeting, lending, staff management and training, business development and marketing, and facilitating corporate activities including board and shareholders\u2019 meetings. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe congratulate and welcome Dwight to our PIDB family,\u201d said Aren Palik, PIDB president and CEO. \u201cHe brings with him tremendous knowledge, experience, and skills in management, business and investment, and development financing.\u201d <\/p>\n
In accepting the position, Heine said, \u201cI am quite excited to take on the challenge and look forward to working with the PIDB Board of Governors, Board of Directors, and the staff and management in boosting economic activities in our region\u201d <\/p>\n
Heine recently held the position of chief executive officer of the Office of Commerce, Investment and Tourism in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2017, he served as manager of Policy Development, Office of Commerce and Investment. <\/p>\n
From 2012 to 2015, he worked for the RMI Ministry of Resources and Development as ADB project manager. He worked in the Ministry of Health as assistant secretary in charge of Personnel and Finance, and Hospital Administrator. <\/p>\n
Heine spent some time in the private sector working for PII, Inc., as shipping manager and running his own business. After graduation from college, he returned to the Marshall Islands where he started working for the Ministry of Education as the National Scholarship coordinator, and under the Public Service Commission as senior task force officer. <\/p>\n
Heine\u2019s education background includes: a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of the South Pacific; Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with concentration in International Health from Boston University; Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Policy and Administration from Western Oregon State College; and a Diploma from Marshall Islands High School where he graduated Salutatorian.<\/p>\n
Heine also passed the requirements and in 2016 was awarded Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) Designee. <\/p>\n
