Northern Marianas Housing Corp. is currently in the process of purchasing modular homes to address the shortage of housing as a result of Super Typhoon Yutu. <\/p>\n
During an interview with NMHC office manager\/procurement officer Jacob Muna, he said that in light of long-term recovery following Super Typhoon Yutu, NMHC anticipates the purchase of modular homes that will serve as transitional homes for those who completely lost their homes to Yutu. <\/p>\n
\u201cRight now we\u2019re still looking at modular homes and also debris removal. Those two are the two projects that we\u2019re anticipating to fulfill\u2026to address the shortage of housing\u2026The modular homes will be the transitional homes\u2026once we purchase that it should be ready,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Muna said that NMHC is still awaiting approval to purchase the modular homes. <\/p>\n
\u201cRight now, we\u2019re just focused on the purchase, its pending approval\u2026. it\u2019s geared toward those affected by the typhoon, basically those who lost their homes completely,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
NMHC will also join forces with the Saipan, Tinian, and Rota municipalities to rid the islands of typhoon debris. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to be helping mayor\u2019s offices of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota with debris removal\u2026pending approval,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Muna said that funding for their typhoon recovery projects are available, their projects are just pending approval. <\/p>\n
Muna said that there have been no completed projects in the last year under their grant programs. <\/p>\n
\u201cRight now our anticipated projects are Kagman Community Center, Koblerville Youth Center, and of course the typhoon recovery,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
