(MVA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Several Korean tourism executives visiting The Marianas to assess the recovery of the destination following Super Typhoon Yutu have pooled their resources to aid local families facing long-term recovery and others in need.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of Korean Marianas Tourism Council donated $10,000 to Karidat Social Services on Jan. 10, 2019, during their recent FAM tour of Saipan organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely grateful to the members of KMTC for their very generous donation to the local community while they were here,\u201d said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. \u201cIt is very heartwarming to see our tourism partners support our community even more during times like this. Karidat is one of the lead agencies for the long-term recovery of families\u2014such as those who\u2019ve lost their homes\u2014and we hope this donation will be a big help in those efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Contributing companies were Jeju Air, Tour 2000, Sejoong Tour, Very Good Tour, Tide Square, SM Town Travel, KRT, and Naeil Tour.<\/p>\n<p>The MVA\u2019s 2019 \u201cWe Together\u201d VIP FAM tour was held on Jan. 10-13, 2019, with CEOS from seven travel agencies and representatives of Jeju Air and DFS. The group\u2019s tour commenced with a welcome dinner and a meeting with MVA management. The group visited major hotels and resorts popular with Korean travelers, where they met with hotel partners to discuss the status of hotels after the typhoon and the normalization of package sales. Members enjoyed dinner at Hyatt Regency Saipan and attended a dinner meeting hosted by DFS T Galleria at Korean restaurant Cheong Gi Wa, followed by an inspection of T Galleria.
