{"id":292939,"date":"2019-01-31T06:06:44","date_gmt":"2019-01-30T20:06:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=292939"},"modified":"2019-01-31T06:06:44","modified_gmt":"2019-01-30T20:06:44","slug":"two-men-plead-guilty-to-criminal-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/two-men-plead-guilty-to-criminal-cases\/","title":{"rendered":"Two men plead guilty to criminal cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two men pleaded guilty to two different criminal cases at the Superior Court Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Alvin Lizama, 36, and Bernard Chutin, 35, pleaded guilty to their respective charges. Lizama was charged for non-compliance with the sex offender registry act and Chutin was charged with one count of assault and battery.<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert Naraja conducted the change of pleas at the same time yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Lizama was sentenced to one-year imprisonment, all suspended except for the 30 days already served.<\/p>\n<p>Lizama will serve three-year supervised probation, 100 hours of community service, and pay all court costs and probation fees.<\/p>\n<p>According to court information, Lizama was arrested for failing to update his information with Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Registry Section on June 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Chutin was sentenced to six-month imprisonment, all suspended. Chutin will be placed on supervised probation for one year, serve 100 hours of community service, and will be required to pay over $500 in fines before the end of his probation.<\/p>\n<p>Chutin was also ordered to attend anger management counseling, not to consume any alcoholic beverages, and to abide by all Commonwealth laws.<\/p>\n<p>Chutin was arrested for grabbing a man by the shirt and shoving him against a truck during an argument in June 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two men pleaded guilty to two different criminal cases at the Superior Court Wednesday.
