{"id":293913,"date":"2019-02-15T06:06:21","date_gmt":"2019-02-14T20:06:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=293913"},"modified":"2019-02-15T06:06:21","modified_gmt":"2019-02-14T20:06:21","slug":"court-delays-ruling-on-motion-for-mistrial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/court-delays-ruling-on-motion-for-mistrial\/","title":{"rendered":"Court delays ruling on motion for mistrial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Superior Court delayed yesterday its ruling on the motion for a mistrial filed during the jury trial for an alleged rape case and will continue the hearing today.<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Presiding Judge Roberto Naraja heard the arguments of both parties in the Manolo Romolor case and said that the hearing for a mistrial will be continued at the CNMI District Court today.<\/p>\n<p>The jury trial in the rape case will continue to be delayed until a ruling is reached on the motion for mistrial filed by defense lawyer Bruce Berline.<\/p>\n<p>Romolor is on trial for alleged rape.<\/p>\n<p>In the continuation of Romolor\u2019s jury trial last Tuesday, Berline verbally filed a motion for a mistrial, accusing the prosecutor, assistant attorney general Teri Tenorio, of incompetence.
