{"id":294330,"date":"2019-02-22T06:00:24","date_gmt":"2019-02-21T20:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=294330"},"modified":"2019-02-22T06:00:24","modified_gmt":"2019-02-21T20:00:24","slug":"tetris-tents-disassembled-to-get-ready-for-typhoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tetris-tents-disassembled-to-get-ready-for-typhoon\/","title":{"rendered":"TETRIS tents  disassembled  to get ready for typhoon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office started disassembling temporary tents yesterday in anticipation of Typhoon Wutip, which is projected to pass by the Marianas this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe started [yesterday] afternoon in the Koblerville area,\u201d said Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office director of field operations Joann Aquino.<\/p>\n<p>According to Aquino, the Temporary Emergency Tent and Roofing Installation Support program of the CNMI government, or TETRIS, contacted their office to assist with Typhoon Wutip preparations, specifically the disassembly of TETRIS tents starting in the Koblerbille area.<\/p>\n<p>Aquino added that the TETRIS program staff would be calling those who availed of the program to ask if they wish to have their temporary tents disassembled in anticipation of Typhoon Wutip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResidents [interested] in having their tents disassembled need to coordinate with TETRIS as well,\u201d Aquino said. <\/p>\n<p>Although those under the program are being called one by one, Aquino noted that her five teams went door to door at about 1:30pm to 2pm to ask people if they want their tents disassembled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tents need to be clear of all their personal property before we can [disassemble] them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Aquino did not specify the other areas on Saipan that are targeted for the disassembly of tents, but she noted that her office is coordinating with TETRIS and goes where there is a need for additional manpower.<\/p>\n<p>As of 5pm yesterday, the U.S. National Weather Service in Guam noted that Typhoon Wutip continues to move west-northwest at 16 mph through Chuuk.
