(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Shorty\u2019s, the sustainable brand whose accessories provide island children access to recycled slippers, is having its first distribution event ever on Saipan. <\/p>\n<p>Through its \u201cBuy-a-pack\u201d program, every time someone buys a Shorty\u2019s bracelet, a slipper is generated and then donated throughout the Micronesia Islands. Shorty\u2019s opened its business in 2018 and has distributed more than 500 slippers so far.<\/p>\n<p>Taking place this weekend, March 1 and 2, at Tribe Marianas on Saipan, Shorty\u2019s will be giving away their slippers to anyone under the age of 18. In addition to the promised slippers, Shorty\u2019s, in partnership with Ayuda Foundation, also will be giving away backpacks, school supplies, and other donated goodies to \u201chelp the islands\u2019 students bounce back\u201d after Super Typhoon Yutu, so that they can finish the school year strong!<\/p>\n<p>This event is a two-day pop-up shop highlighting Shorty\u2019s expansion into Saipan. With this event, they hope to connect with Saipan\u2019s environmentally conscious community. <\/p>\n<p>When asked why they decided on expanding into Saipan, Shorty\u2019s founder, Kai Murrell replied: \u201cThere is this massive wave of environmental consciousness that is developing right here in the Pacific Islands.
