{"id":294760,"date":"2019-03-01T06:06:14","date_gmt":"2019-02-28T20:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=294760"},"modified":"2019-03-01T06:06:14","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T20:06:14","slug":"cec-sent-50-absentee-ballots-for-special-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cec-sent-50-absentee-ballots-for-special-election\/","title":{"rendered":"CEC sent 50 absentee ballots for special election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Election Commission had already sent a total of 50 ballots to absentee voters for the March 23 special election. <\/p>\n<p>CEC administrative officer Kayla Igitol disclosed yesterday that they received and approved a total of 53 requests for absentee ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Igitol said they sent the first batch of 45 ballots last Tuesday, which was the deadline to apply for absentee voting by electronic\/mail.<\/p>\n<p>She said the following day, Wednesday, they sent the second batch composed of five more ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Igitol said three absentee voters picked up their ballots at the CEC office in Susupe.<\/p>\n<p>Igitol said they printed 4,038 ballots for this special election.<\/p>\n<p>As of last Jan. 28, there were 3,361 registered voters for Precinct 3. At the Nov. 13, 2018 general election, there were 3,795 voters for Precinct 3 and out of those number, 2,867 cast their votes.<\/p>\n<p>A special election will be held following the death of representative Francisco D.
