(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>American Red Cross-NMI Chapter volunteers provided emergency assistance to the residents of a barracks fire in San Antonio. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire housing complex was destroyed leaving families with only the cloths on their backs\u201d said Joseph Jetnil, Disaster Action Team leader. <\/p>\n<p>The Red Cross team worked into the night providing financial assistance for emergency housing, clothing, shoes, and personal care items. Chinese translation support was provided by Rose Chen and other volunteers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe helped in a small way 27 families begin their difficult recovery after losing everything\u201d said J.D. Tenorio, Red Cross Disaster Program manager. \u201cWe are grateful to have the support of our volunteers and donors that make our work possible\u201d said Tenorio <\/p>\n<p>For more information about the Red Cross and its programs, call 234-3459.
