{"id":29484,"date":"2014-03-10T16:18:28","date_gmt":"2014-03-10T08:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tribune.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=29484"},"modified":"2014-03-10T16:18:28","modified_gmt":"2014-03-10T08:18:28","slug":"many-players-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/many-players-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Too many players, too few results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NOUMEA, New Caledonia\u2014The Secretariat of the Pacific Community is leveraging its expertise across multiple sectors, including in health, climate change and fisheries, to deliver more comprehensive results for Pacific Island countries and territories.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are changing the way we work and repositioning ourselves to provide more coordinated and high quality technical, scientific and policy advice to our members,\u201d said SPC\u2019s new director-general, Dr. Colin Tukuitonga.<\/p>\n<p>As Tukuitonga prepares for his first high-level meeting with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, one of the region\u2019s largest donors, he has questioned the costs and benefits of the crowded development space in the Pacific region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a plethora of organizations involved and yet the impact is uncertain,\u201d said Tukuitonga.<\/p>\n<p>The region receives the highest per capita development dollars in the world and yet many Pacific people continue to live in unacceptable conditions.
