{"id":294930,"date":"2019-03-05T06:00:33","date_gmt":"2019-03-04T20:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=294930"},"modified":"2019-03-05T06:00:33","modified_gmt":"2019-03-04T20:00:33","slug":"uog-conference-to-focus-on-oceania-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/uog-conference-to-focus-on-oceania-issues\/","title":{"rendered":"UOG conference to focus on Oceania issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 40th\u00a0CLASS Annual Research Conference themed \u201cI Tano, I\u00a0Tasi, yan I Taotao Siha: Boundaries, Balance, and Behaviors\u201d\u00a0will take place on\u00a0Friday, March 8, from 8:30am to 4pm in the Humanities &amp; Social Sciences Building on the campus of the University of Guam.<\/p>\n<p>The Annual Research Conference is organized by UOG\u2019s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences as a forum for intellectual engagement and discussions on issues related and unique to Oceania, a global resource endowed with significant ecological and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n<p>It is a multidisciplinary research conference platform for local, regional, and global scholars, scientists, visual and theatrical artists, and students to share their research and experiences.\u00a0The conference will include presentations of academic papers, illustrated talks, interactive panels and demonstrations, performances, and\u00a0informative poster sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The theme is meant to generate insightful conversations and novel ideas that evaluate, redefine, and promote the collaborative projects in diverse fields in the Pacific region.
