Many of the program’s equipment were destroyed by Super Typhoon Yutu in late October 2018.

“However, as part of our training, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. allows our students as part of the nursing program to participate in clinical studies…where they work alongside hospital staff that are registered nurses in the hospital,” he said.

Eliptico noted that the college’s temporary nursing classrooms will only be able to fit one bed. NMC sustained extensive typhoon damage throughout its As Terlaje campus. Classes are being held right now in temporary tents installed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

“We are of course working to replenish our nursing equipment and the laboratory, which was damaged by the typhoon,” Eliptico said.

The donation, according to Eliptico, was made possible through talks between NMC Nursing chair Rosa Tudela and the leadership of the Marianas Visiting Nurses.

“We are very appreciative of the donation,” he added.

The Northern Marianas College received a hospital training bed last week for the college’s nursing…

[4
69
post-295406","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-nmc
["GET
