Mahi-mahi Fishing Derby set<\/p>\n
The Saipan Fishermen\u2019s Association will hold the 15th Annual Mahi-mahi Fishing Derby on Mar. 30, 2019.\u00a0 Prizes will include $1,000 cash for first place, with remaining placement prizes to be announced.\u00a0 The registration fee is $100 per boat, including one captain and one angler, and $10 for each additional angler.\u00a0For more information, contact Marianas Visitors Authority community projects specialist Ray Villagomez at 1 (670) 664-3200\/01 or\u00a0rvillagomez@mymarianas.com. Military trainings at FDM, former golf course\u00a0<\/p>\n
ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, and U.S. Air Force is conducting trainings at the island of Farallon de Medinilla until March 23, from 8am to 10pm
\nHelicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 is also conducting combat search-and-rescue training until March 21, from 5pm to 11pm, at the former Adm. Nimitz Golf Course in Barrigada\u00a0
\nIt is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. It is also recommended the public, commercial pilots, fishermen and marine tour operators stay clear from these areas during the dates and times indicated.
\nThese types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.
\nThe general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island.
\nThe public should be advised that routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur during training at the former Adm. Nimitz Golf Course. (PR)<\/p>\n
Ladies\u2019 Night at the library <\/p>\n
In honor of Women\u2019s Month, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library invites all women and their families to a free Ladies\u2019 Night tomorrow, March 22, 2019, from 5pm to 7pm.
\nThere will be many fun activities provided, such as a Zumba class, a smoothie bar, raffle prizes for women, art demonstrations, and more.
