{"id":295891,"date":"2019-03-21T06:10:46","date_gmt":"2019-03-20T20:10:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=295891"},"modified":"2019-03-21T06:10:46","modified_gmt":"2019-03-20T20:10:46","slug":"chcc-gets-new-wheelchairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chcc-gets-new-wheelchairs\/","title":{"rendered":"CHCC gets new wheelchairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_295892\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-295892\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Wheelchairs-pix.jpg\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-295892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. chief executive officer Esther Mu\u00f1a and CHCC director of medical affairs John Tudela pose with the wheelchairs donated by Medquest Medical Supplies yesterday.\u00a0(Erwin Encinares)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. got two brand new wheelchairs yesterday from a medical supplier on-island as a donation to the lone hospital in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>Medquest Medical Supply gave the Commonwealth Health Center medical ward two wheelchairs\u2014size 18s and size 22s\u2014after CHC director of medical affairs John Tudela reached out to them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the problems usually is having patients transferred [within the hospital] to different departments for testing\u2026 One of the issues is we do not have enough wheelchairs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tudela, the ward only has four wheelchairs.
