The 33rd Annual American Red Cross Walkathon would be held this Saturday in Susupe to raise funds for the organization\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n
The event would begin at 6am starting at the Guma Sakman building in Susupe and offers 10K, 5K, and 2K courses.<\/p>\n
Each $20 donation gets you a T-shirt and giveaways. <\/p>\n
Additional giveaways such as sandwiches and refreshments are also offered to those who participate as well as a community fair, blood pressure checks, immunizations, cooking demonstrations, carnival games, face painting, bounce houses, and a fire truck and military vehicle show.<\/p>\n
The organization is also giving away free Pacific Islands Club Saipan waterpark passes, a $10 fuel voucher for Mobil, a $5 Arch card for McDonald\u2019s Saipan, and a F\u2019real smoothie or shake for all walkers who are able to raise $75 on their pledge forms. <\/p>\n
The walkathon would be held on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. <\/p>\n
According to Saipan Tribune archives, over 3,000 individuals participated back in 2017, with over 2,000 participants on Saipan. It was able to raise over $70,000. <\/p>\n
As usual every year, the proceeds raised from the walkathon, according to a previous interview with American Red Cross-NMI Chapter executive director John Hirsh, would go to the operations of the ARC, which mostly consists of humanitarian work as well as promoting healthy living.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
