The Northern Marianas College is preparing to contract anew its erstwhile consultant to look into student retention and satisfaction at the institution, according to president Dr. Sharon Y. Hart in her report to the Board of Regents.
\nNoel-Levitz is a recognized leader in higher education consulting that is committed to helping institutions meet their goals for enrolment and student success.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe [Office of Institutional Effectiveness] is preparing to contract with Noel-Levitz again this spring 2014 semester to study student retention and satisfaction. The data gathered from that analysis will be used to strengthen instruction, as well as student services,\u201d according to the president\u2019s report.<\/p>\n
Hart said the \u201cStudent Success Task Force\u201d will focus on integrating instructional and student services planning for student success.<\/p>\n
According to her, student success is one of the imperatives of NMC\u2019s Strategic Plan 2015-2020.<\/p>\n
It was disclosed that the Office of Institutional Effectiveness is also partnering with McREL on two studies that will identify successful pathways from high school to college, and through college.<\/p>\n
Hart said that the first study focuses on exploring academic readiness of incoming students to NMC while the second will explore patterns of success at the institution.<\/p>\n
Hart also reported to the board on the Office of Institutional Effectiveness\u2019 efforts to continue providing data and technical support for \u201cComplete College Agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n
