{"id":297818,"date":"2019-04-18T06:06:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T20:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=297818"},"modified":"2019-04-18T06:06:00","modified_gmt":"2019-04-17T20:06:00","slug":"48-dogs-cats-spayed-neutered-on-tinian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/48-dogs-cats-spayed-neutered-on-tinian\/","title":{"rendered":"48 dogs, cats spayed, neutered on Tinian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly 50 cats and dogs were either spayed or neutered during a free two-day clinic on Tinian, according to Saipan Cares for Animals.<\/p>\n<p>The animal welfare group told Saipan Tribune yesterday that a total of 48 cats and dogs were spayed (for females) or neutered (for males) at the Tinian Youth Center over the weekend. <\/p>\n<p>SCA president Beth Pliscou described the 48 surgeries within two days as a \u201chuge amount.\u201d She thanked Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan\u2019s assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Next up is a spay and neutering clinic on Rota. It is going to be a four-day clinic starting this Sunday, April 21, to Wednesday, April 24.<\/p>\n<p>Pliscou is coordinating the outreach with Rota Mayor Efraim Atalig <\/p>\n<p>Pliscou added that she is planning a second trip to Tinian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Tinian mayor made it really great when we went there and we were able to do a lot of surgeries. I would really like to go back in about a month,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Logistics such as the rental car and the hotel rooms for the veterinarian and the SCA staff were handled by the Tinian Mayor\u2019s Office. A similar set up is being arranged for the Rota visit.<\/p>\n<p>The Rota clinic would be accepting both cats and dogs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCats can have three litters of kittens a year.
