Sablan (Ind-MP) issued the following statement to clarify yesterday\u2019s story in the Saipan Tribune titled, \u201cCategorical parole bill hits snag.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImmigration is one of the most difficult policy areas at this time in Congress, so it was unfair of me to lay the blame for delay of H.R.559 entirely on the Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, the disagreement that has slowed the bill has come from Congress as well, and from both Democrats and Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is frustrating because there are 1,038 individuals in the Marianas, whose futures are at stake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFortunately, in Washington, [D.C.], during the current two-week Easter break, all parties are talking and making a sincere effort to come to agreement. I am grateful to the Department of Homeland Security\u00a0and to the House Judiciary and Natural Resources committees for their work.
