{"id":29845,"date":"2014-03-13T09:39:28","date_gmt":"2014-03-13T01:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tribune.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=29845"},"modified":"2014-03-13T09:39:28","modified_gmt":"2014-03-13T01:39:28","slug":"pss-delegates-shine-tumon-bay-music-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/pss-delegates-shine-tumon-bay-music-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"PSS delegates shine in Tumon Bay Music Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three school-based music groups in the Commonwealth made yet another remarkable appearance in this year\u2019s Tumon Bay Music Festival in Guam after they were selected as the \u201cJudges\u2019 Choice\u201d and invited for a repeat show at the festival\u2019s finale night.<br \/>\nBased on the official results of the 2014 TBMF released yesterday, last year\u2019s overall champion, the Marianas High School Glee Club\u2019s Rhythm \u2018N Harmony, was chosen to perform at the \u201cCommand Performance Night\u201d on Saturday where the recipient of the festival\u2019s \u201cSweepstakes Trophy\u201d is traditionally announced.<\/p>\n<p>Besides Rhythm \u2018N Harmony, Saipan Southern High School\u2019s Manta Ray Band and Koblerville Elementary School\u2019s Umang Glee Club also earned slots for the finale night to be held on March 15.<\/p>\n<p>The 2014 Tumon Bay Music Festival will run through Saturday. The adjudicated portion of the competition started on March 6. A special concert is slated on Saturday where the \u201cJudges\u2019 Choice\u201d in various categories will perform.<\/p>\n<p>MHS Rhythm \u2018N Harmony director Paul Dujua confirmed with Saipan Tribune yesterday the group\u2019s participation in the Command Performance Night after the group was hailed the \u201cJudges\u2019 Choice for High School Choir.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dujua shared that the group, during the adjudicated performance on Friday, sang I\u2019ll Cover You from Rent by Jonathan Larson; Dies Irae from The Requiem by Mozart; Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye; and The Ballad of Sweeney Todd from the Broadway musical Sweeney Todd.<\/p>\n<p>MHS Rhythm \u2019N Harmony is composed of Lady Dominique &#8220;Nikki&#8221; Canape, Anne Marie Cruz, Emily Lisa Jones, Diane Hermogenes, Jennella Nelmida, Annabel Manzo, Shaina Santiago, Lara Samantha Santiago, Lemuel Bunao, Simei Charfauros, William Percil, John Huevos, Darren Cajipo, and Noel Jimenez.<\/p>\n<p>The Glee is also part of the Mack Brandon Project that is scheduled to do the finale on Saturday, according to Dujua.<\/p>\n<p>MHS\u2019 Dolphin Pep Band directed by David Frahm was also hailed the Judges\u2019 Choice for Pop Ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>Another Saipan delegation that was adjudged one of the winners in the adjudicated performances is the SSHS Manta Band, which was hailed the Judges\u2019 Choice for the High School Band category.
