Celis retained the top spot in the pitching race, while the Falcons\u2019 Aven Evangelista and Spencer Dickinson grabbed first place in the batting contest, as organizers of the 2014 Saipan Little League Baseball League released the statistics in the Major division this week.<br \/>\nAfter last Sunday\u2019s games, Celis earned a 1.33 ERA off 18 innings pitched and three allowed runs, improving his performance on the mound since taking over the lead from IP&amp;E Rockies\u2019 Tyrese Camacho. Celis had a 1.84 ERA two weekends ago and kept the top spot after closing out for Laolao Bay against the Hustlers, allowing no runs and striking out six in their 10-7 win.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Celis in the Top 5 (based on 13 or more innings pitched) are the Little Legals\u2019 Pedro Maratita (2.47 ERA), the JPO Enforcers\u2019 Kenneth Kaipat (2.82), the Comets I\u2019 Francisco Frederick (2.82), and IT&amp;E\u2019s Kyle Kapileo (3.69).<\/p>\n<p>In the batting race, Evangelista and Dickinson stole the No. 1 spot from Francisco, who dropped to fourth. The Falcons slugger went 10-for-16 after last weekend\u2019s game for a batting average of .625, tying Dickinson, who hit 15-for-24. The Braves Joe Tudela is at third place with his .588 off a 10-for-17 performance at the plate, while Frederick was 11-for-19 for a batting average .578. The Falcons\u2019 Justin Cangco tied Frederick, as he was also 11-for-19, while former leader and IT&amp;E\u2019s Philip Kapileo completed the Top 5 with his .565 (13-for-23).<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the leaderboard are Comets I\u2019s Clarence Cabrera (.562), the Falcons\u2019 Angel Iguel (.555), McDonald\u2019s Sun Joon Tenorio (.550), the Braves\u2019 Vicente Camacho (.529), and Robin Sablan (.500), McDonald\u2019s Austin Sanchez (.500) and Henry Fleming (.500), and IP&amp;E\u2019 Tyrese Camacho (.500).<\/p>\n<p>In other categories, Tudela, Kyke and Philip Kapileo, and Maratita are tied in the most doubles race with four each, while IT&amp;E\u2019s Christopher Achas leads in triples with three. Kiana Aldan is ahead in the RBIs race with her 14, while Dai Podziewski and Thomas Agulto are on top of the runs and home runs contests with 20 and 3, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the strikeouts, Dickinson had 46 so far to lead the 40 of Camacho.
