Anderson attributes the relative lack of violent crimes or gun-related crimes in the Commonwealth to its strict gun laws.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson told reporters Wednesday that the national priorities in investigating criminal cases are narcotics trafficking and violent crimes but there\u2019s not much of violent crimes or gun crimes on the island \u201cbecause the laws in the CNMI, the gun laws, are so strict.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Instead, in the CNMI, the high priority are prosecuting criminal immigration, public corruption, and white-collar crimes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe citizens if they see something not right, they should report to the police or to the [Drug Enforcement Administration],\u201d Anderson said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the NMI Shawn N.
