A mobilization ceremony was held on Saturday, May 11, to bid farewell to deploying soldiers from the Guam National Guard.<\/p>\n

Overseas deployments continue with soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 294th Infantry Regiment departing in support of a peacekeeping mission in the Sinai Peninsula.<\/p>\n

The Guam soldiers will be part of a Multinational Force and Observers team, consisting of about 12 countries, who supervise the implementation of the security provisions of the 1979 Egyptian-Israeli Treaty of Peace and employ best efforts to prevent any violation of its terms.<\/p>\n

As always, the Guam National Guard asks the public for their continued support as this mobilization will also have a significant impact on the Guam National Guard who join more than 50 airmen who are still deployed abroad in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Freedom Sentinel.<\/p>\n
