*Chamorro for \u201cplease don\u2019t look bad at me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Always Give All Your Heart<\/strong><\/p>\n Always give your whole heart, for love My hometown of Elmira, New York, was known in song as \u2018The Gateway to the Finger Lakes.\u201d I spent my high school summers (1963-1967) gallivanting around the glens, vineyards, shale beaches, and cool waters of three of the larger Finger Lakes in upstate New York.<\/p>\n Along the side of those three lakes\u2014Cayuga, Seneca, and Keuka\u2014were small dairy farms and vineyards. Today there are many more vineyards. We would swim in the round rock potholes of the small glens and jump from cliffs down into the potholes. Many an early romance developed along those lakes.<\/p>\n This is a response I wrote to W. B. Yeats\u2019 poem Never Give All the Heart.
