Tina Sablan (Ind-Saipan) and John Paul Sablan (R-Saipan) may be from opposing aisles of the Legislature but the two are teaming up on projects for their district, Precinct 2.<\/p>\n<p>Tina Sablan is one of the seven independents in the House under the minority, while J.P. Sablan is a member of the ruling Republican majority; he is the floor leader and chairman of the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Both lawmakers just completed several cleanups in their district, and also organized the planting of trees, flowers, and other vegetables at the William S. Reyes Elementary School last month.<\/p>\n<p>Now they are looking at shoreline plantings in Precinct 2 beaches like Laly 4 and Sugar Dock. They are looking to partner with the Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance on this project.<\/p>\n<p>Both lawmakers are also planning to plant more trees in the villages, cleanups, and other beautification projects in their precinct. They are also looking at hosting a job fair and holding regular town hall meetings for the people of Precinct 2.<\/p>\n<p>The first town hall meeting will be held on May 28, Tuesday, from 5pm to 7pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reps.
