TanHoldings Footbal Club and MP United Football Club recorded contrasting wins in the masters division of the 2019 Dove Spring Women\u2019s Futsal League last Sunday at the TSL Sports Complex.<\/p>\n
MP United slipped past Kanoa Football Club, 3-2, while TanHoldings eased past Matansa Football Club-2, 3-0. Matansa-1 joined last weekend\u2019s winners circle after a free victory (via forfeiture) over Topnotch.<\/p>\n
MP United found its target early, scoring all its goals in the first half to survive Kanoa\u2019s comeback in the second.<\/p>\n
Aimee Quito Weiss hit the board in the fourth minute to put Kanoa on top, but not for long, as Merlie Tolentino countered in the ninth minute for the deadlock. Three minutes later, MP United regained the upper hand off Laarni Zapanta, while Karen Aglipay scored in the 14th minute to give their team more breathing room at the break.<\/p>\n
When the game resumed, MP United struggled, while another goal from Tolentino in the 36th minute moved Kanoa within one. However, MP United hung on for the close win.<\/p>\n
While MP United got quite a scare from Kanoa, TanHoldings rolled past Matansa-2 after drawing goals from three different players. Eun Benavente scored in the ninth minute, while Jessica Ortizo and Magie Chavez delivered in the 17th and 44th minute, respectively.<\/p>\n
Shirley\u2019s 5, Paire 1<\/strong> Katrina Costales towed Shirley\u2019s to the easy win after posting a hat trick, which she delivered in succession. She started her string of goals in the 68th minute, while her last two were recorded in the 77th and 79th. Catherine Barroza drew first blood for Shirley\u2019s in the 18th minute, while Lilian Podziewski handed the team its second goal in the 66th.
