The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk, who mysteriously disappeared while waiting for a public school bus near their home in As Teo on May 25, 2011.<\/p>\n
FBI spokesperson Michele Ernst announced today that this Saturday, May 25, is marked as National Missing Children\u2019s Day, which was proclaimed by former President Ronald Reagan in 1983.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 25th also happens to be the eighth anniversary of the disappearance of the Faloma and Maleina Luhk, who vanished from the United States territory of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands,\u201d said Ernst in a press release.<\/p>\n
Ernst said eight years later, the FBI remains dedicated to work with the CNMI Department of Public Safety to find the missing girls.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnyone in the community who has knowledge of the matter may also contact the FBI\u2019s Saipan Office at 670-322-6934,\u201d the FBI spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
Faloma and Maleina were 10 and 9 years old, respectively, at the time of their disappearance. Their mother is currently in the U.S. mainland, while their father was last reported staying in Chuuk. <\/p>\n
