{"id":300577,"date":"2019-05-30T06:04:52","date_gmt":"2019-05-29T20:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=300577"},"modified":"2019-05-30T06:04:52","modified_gmt":"2019-05-29T20:04:52","slug":"paire-kanoa-shut-down-opponents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/paire-kanoa-shut-down-opponents\/","title":{"rendered":"Paire, Kanoa shut down opponents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/dovepix-4.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Paire Football Club and Kanoa Football Club cruised to victories in the 2019 Dove Spring Women\u2019s 11 vs. 11 League last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.<\/p>\n<p>In the curtain-raiser, Paire crushed Matansa Football Club, 13-0, while in the second game, Kanoa blanked Shirley\u2019s Football Club, 2-0.<\/p>\n<p>Irish Pagarao and Sue Anne Huevos delivered the pair of goals for Kanoa, which took a while to hit the board. Pagarao ended Kanoa\u2019s silence in the 54th minute, while Huevos scored her goal in the 65th to give their team its second win in as many games. Kanoa defeated Matansa, 4-3, during the league\u2019s season opening game early this month.<\/p>\n<p>Paire also notched its second straight win after clobbering Matansa in last weekend\u2019s double-header. Paire prevailed over Shirley\u2019s in its first match in the season.<\/p>\n<p>In its second assignment, Paire had a walk in the park after drawing goals from six different players. Summer Manahane, Guine Borja, and Jerlyn Castillo teamed up in Paire\u2019s demolition of Matansa after firing three goals each, while Erin Frink chipped in two. Brittany Wally and Anisa Villagomez contributed two apiece.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the last pair of preliminary matches will be played this Sunday with the unbeaten Paire and Kanoa colliding in the first game at 4pm and Matansa and Shirley\u2019s squaring off in the second tiff at 6pm.<\/p>\n<p>The final games will determine the playoff seeding, as the No. 1 team will take on the No. 4 finisher for the second finals seat and the No. 2 and 3 squads will battle for the first finals ticket on June 9.
