{"id":300645,"date":"2019-05-31T06:06:26","date_gmt":"2019-05-30T20:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=300645"},"modified":"2019-05-31T06:06:26","modified_gmt":"2019-05-30T20:06:26","slug":"court-grants-part-of-fisgs-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/court-grants-part-of-fisgs-demand\/","title":{"rendered":"Court grants part of FISG\u2019s demand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Tribune erroneously reported in a previous article that Express Financial filed a lawsuit against Albert Moolang in pursuant of a loan, but it was actually Financial and Insurance Services Group, Inc. that filed the complaint. <\/p>\n<p>In the corrected article, Financial and Insurance Services Group, Inc. was granted partial judgement in its favor in the sum of $1068.43 following a complaint that was filed with the Superior Court in March. <\/p>\n<p>Moolang failed to appear before the court to plead or defend himself so the court entered a default judgement in favor of Financial and Insurance Services Group, Inc. <\/p>\n<p>According to the order, the court granted FISG\u2019s requests for the principal sum due of $843.43 and the filing cost of $225. The court also granted post judgement interest of 9-percent per annum. <\/p>\n<p>However, the court denied FISG\u2019s request for late fees worth $50, attorneys fees, and also denied the request for pre-judgement interest of 24-percent per annum worth $89.84. <\/p>\n<p>The court found that Moolang did breach his contract with FISG because he failed to pay off a loan of $4,004.45 that he borrowed back in 2015.
