Saipan\u2019s non-revenue water\u2014unaccounted and wasted water\u2014went down to 61.38 percent last April from a high of 77 percent last December.  <\/p>\n<p>CUC executive director Gary P. Camacho disclosed that the increase in non-revenue water for the month of December was due to the loss of water sales during the Super Typhoon Yutu restoration efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Before Yutu\u2019s devastation last Oct. 24 and 25, CUC\u2019s non-revenue water was at 50 percent, then it jumped to over 60 percent last November, and 77 percent last December.<\/p>\n<p>Last March, the non-revenue water was at 62 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho said water sales decreased during Yutu\u2019s restoration efforts as many customers in the tank service areas experienced intermittent and scheduled water hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWater service is dependent on the volume of water produced at the well sites,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>As of Jan. 16, 2019, the Saipan water system was back to serving 24-hour water service to customers on the island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Utilities Corp.
