(MVA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Visitors to the Marianas during May Tourism Month had the chance to commemorate the month with tree planting on Tinian. <\/p>\n<p>The Marianas Visitors Authority facilitated the activity for visitors to the island on May 22 and 23, 2019, as part of the \u201cI\u2019m a Green Tourist\u201d event. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the tourists planted in pairs or in groups and then excitedly took pictures one by one beside the coconut trees they planted,\u201d said Vida Borja, MVA field operations manager. \u201cThey had fun planting even under the glaring heat of the sun at 1:30 pm!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The visitors planted coconut trees along the main thoroughfare through island, called Broadway. The name of each participant was recorded as an acknowledgement of their work. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy sincerest appreciation to the tourists and tour agents who participated during this much needed tree planting,\u201d said Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan. \u201cNow they have more reasons to [revisit]\u2026our beautiful island. <\/p>\n<p>May is celebrated annually as Marianas Tourism Month.
