NMI Tau Gamma Council to join Pistang Pinoy<\/strong>
\nThe Northern Mariana Islands Council of the local Tau Gamma Phi will be holding a free health screening on Sunday as part of the activities in the annual Pistang Pinoy festivities at the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth time the Triskelions\u2019 Grand Fraternity is holding a free health screening since 2012.<\/p>\n

The free health screening is in cooperation with the United Filipino Organizations and nurses from the Commonwealth Health Center and St. Jude Renal Care Facility. It will include blood pressure test, blood sugar test, and pulse oximetry or the measuring of the oxygen level of the blood.<\/p>\n

The NMIC Triskelions\u2019 is also tasked to organize the Filipino parlor games for the Pistang Pinoy that include chess, balloon popping, sack race, basagan ng palayok (hit the pot), and pabitin. (PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n

JIL Saipan marks 22nd anniversary<\/strong>
\nThe Jesus is Lord Church Saipan is celebrating its 22nd\u00a0Anniversary on June 16, 2019, starting at 4pm, at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe, with a theme \u201cProclaiming Jesus is Lord.\u201d <\/p>\n

This year\u2019s guest speaker will be Pastor Abigail Corpuz, Area Pastor of Area 5, JIL West USA supervising Hawaii, Saipan and Guam. She is visiting Saipan for the first time with her husband and daughter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Jesus is Lord Church Saipan is located in San Vicente\/Dandan Village with over 150 members of different nationalities. Community members are encouraged to join the celebration. For more information or to obtain a ride to the event, call 670-989-8053. (PR)<\/p>\n

Writers\u2019 workshop on June 15 at JKPL<\/p>\n

Local author Walt F.J. Goodridge will be leading a writers\u2019 workshop on June 15, 2019, from 9am to 12pm, at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library\u2019s video teleconference room. Admission is $10 in advance, and $12 at the door\u00a0($5 for students with ID). Twenty percent of admission proceeds will be donated directly to the library on the day of the event.\u00a0Seating is limited. To register, visit the front desk of the library. Guam CHamoru commission meetings set<\/strong>
\nThe Kumisi\u00f3n\u00a0i Fino\u2019 CHamoru yan\u00a0i Fina\u2019n\u00e5\u2019guen\u00a0i Historia yan i Lina\u2019la\u2019 Taotao T\u00e5no\u2019 (Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of History and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam)\u00a0will hold its monthly meetings on June 13, and 20, 2019, from 12:30pm to 3pm\u00a0at the Kumision office, The Garden House, Plasa de Espana, Hagatna. <\/p>\n

A work session\u00a0will be held on June 27, 2019, from 12:30pm to 3pm, at the same venue.<\/p>\n

Military training in open ocean, at Dandan, Farallon de Medinilla<\/strong>
\nASAN, Guam<\/strong>\u2014The U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla today, June 7, from 10:30am to 9pm. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be within a 12-nautical mile radius of the island. (PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe Saipan Chamber of Commerce and Jim Arenovski of Island Training Solutions will be hosting a training on time management at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce conference room (Marianas Business Plaza, third floor, Suite 315) on June 26, from 9am to 12pm.
