{"id":301829,"date":"2019-06-19T06:06:47","date_gmt":"2019-06-18T20:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=301829"},"modified":"2019-06-19T06:06:47","modified_gmt":"2019-06-18T20:06:47","slug":"youth-pride-walk-on-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/youth-pride-walk-on-friday\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth Pride Walk on Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pride Marianas Youth, composed of friends and families of LGBTQ+youth, would like to invite the public to the first-ever Youth Pride Walk on Friday, June 21, at the Carolinian Utt in Garapan. The event will begin at 2pm leading up to the walk at 3pm. <\/p>\n<p>This event, called Rainbow Walk, aims to show support for the LGBTQ+youth as well as increase awareness of the issues faced by the local LGBTQ+youth community. <\/p>\n<p>Before the walk begins, there will be face painting and sign-making stations for interested participants. Free \u201cPride\u201d pins will also be given to participants with other giveaways while supplies last.<\/p>\n<p>The walk will begin from the Carolinian Utt to the Paseo de Marianas. The Pride crosswalk\u2014the crosswalk in front of the Fiesta Resort &amp; Spa Saipan and Paseo de Marianas painted in rainbow colors\u2014will be unveiled and there will be a proclamation signing at 5pm.<\/p>\n<p>The proclamation states that June will be considered as Pride Month.<\/p>\n<p>The Rainbow Walk will be the first-ever Pride crosswalk in the Marianas.<\/p>\n<p>The mission of Pride Marianas Youth is to \u201cspread the message of inclusivity and importance of the LGBTQ+ youth and the LGBTQ+ community.
