(Contributed Photo)

Bridge Capital LLC has reaffirmed its commitment to trades education with a donation to the Northern Marianas Trades Institute’s 4th Annual Gala.

With the investment firm’s donation, NMTI is $500 closer to its goal of building on its equipment and tools arsenal.

This mark’s Bridge Capital’s fourth year of donating to the dinner fundraiser.

NMTI is transitioning toward becoming a public entity. After seeking various legal opinions on the matter, the institute remains a non-profit institute with the ability to fundraise until the transition is complete.

“We look forward to working with the new NMTI board of trustees appointed by the Torres administration,” said Frank Rabauliman, NMTI’s director of administration. “The two individuals sworn in very recently is welcome news to the institute as the transition process can only begin with the full board being duly confirmed by the Senate. We thank our current board for their patience with the process as we need both to make this transition work out as law intended.”

Rabauliman noted, this year’s dinner fundraiser may be the last one under the name Northern Marianas Trades Institute as it expects to fully transition into a “technical” institute by the end of the year.

He said the annual dinner fundraiser will also transition and rest on the shoulders of a fundraising arm that is somewhat similar to that of the Northern Marianas College Foundation.

“We are sincerely grateful for the backing we receive from our community in all our endeavors,” said NMTI CEO Agnes McPhetres. “We are truly lucky to have great business leaders backing our institute.”

NMTI’s 4th Annual Gala is scheduled for July 26, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.
