{"id":304245,"date":"2019-07-22T06:06:47","date_gmt":"2019-07-21T20:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=304245"},"modified":"2019-07-22T06:06:47","modified_gmt":"2019-07-21T20:06:47","slug":"ccc-wants-time-to-review-legislation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/ccc-wants-time-to-review-legislation\/","title":{"rendered":"CCC wants time to review legislation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Casino Commission wants more time to talk about a bill that proposes a 10% gambling revenue tax on all gambling establishments on Saipan, including the Imperial Pacific International (Saipan) LLC\u2019s casino.<\/p>\n<p>CCC board chair Juan M. Sablan said Thursday that they just got a copy of House Local Bill 21-23 and that he asked the other commissioners and CCC members to review the legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan said one commissioner, in fact, recommended that they be given an extension to look into it and reply.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan said he himself has no position on the bill yet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to get the entire commission\u2019s position. One guy does not represent the entire commission. We have to get the majority,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Acting CCC executive director Charlie O. Atalig said they did get a letter from the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation asking for their input and recommendations on House Local Bill 21-33.<\/p>\n<p>Atalig said they will go through with the legislation, give their internal feedback, compile it in a letter, then submit it to the Legislature.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
