Star Marianas Air Inc. announced yesterday that it will be adding more seats between Saipan and Rota and Guam and Rota beginning July 24.<\/p>\n
The Tinian-based interisland carrier said the decision to add more seats between the three islands was made in consultation with the Rota Legislative Delegation and other local officials.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdding more seats will mean that our residents and visitors will have more options when making their travel plans,\u201d Star Marianas said in a press statement yesterday.<\/p>\n

Sens. Paul Manglona (Ind-Rota) and Teresita Santos (Ind-Rota) lauded Star Marianas\u2019 decision, with the former extending a \u201cthank you!\u201d to the company in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the people and leaders of Rota, thank you Star Marianas Air for providing additional air passenger service, most especially to and from our beautiful island of Rota!\u201d said Santos in a similar social media post.<\/p>\n
Star Marianas is a U.S. regional commuter airline serving the CNMI and Guam. It offers scheduled flights from Saipan to Tinian; from Saipan to Rota; and from Rota to Guam. Additionally, charter flights can be arranged 24 hours per day\/seven days per week.<\/p>\n
Founded in 2008, Star Marianas received initial certification from the Federal Aviation Administration as an On-Demand Air Carrier effective April 1, 2009, with its first flight occurring on April 2, 2009\u2014a charter between Tinian and Saipan.<\/p>\n
Its website notes that the \u201cStar” in Star Marianas Air comes from the first letter of the islands of Saipan, Tinian, Aguiguan, and Rota.<\/p>\n
In 2019, Star Marianas\u2019 10th year in operation, it will be adding three additional Cherokee Sixes to the fleet, bringing the total number of its fleet to 14 aircraft.<\/p>\n
