(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>St. Jude Parish and San Jose Tinian led the winners list in the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa Sportsfest and Health Fair 2019 held over the weekend at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>St. Jude ruled the basketball competition after beating Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in the finals, 64-54. In the volleyball title match, San Jose Tinian edged San Jose Saipan, 18-16.<\/p>\n<p>San Vicente, Kristo Rai, San Antonio, Santa Remedios, and San Roque also joined the volleyball and basketball tournaments and the four other events held in the third edition of the annual sportsfest.<\/p>\n<p>In the frisbee, San Jose Tinian was victorious, too after defeating Santa Remedios in the finals, 9-7. The visiting team also ruled the obstacle course event held at the MHS grounds after clocking in at 7:23.00. Santa Remedios was the runner-up after posting 9:30.05, while St. Jude completed the Top 3 with its 10:50.03.<\/p>\n<p>St. Jude earned another first place honors when they won the tug-of-war competition, while San Jose Tinian and Santa Remedios came in at second and third place, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the food eating contest, San Vicente\u2019s Joshua Chavez was the winner, while Kristorai\u2019s Anthony Lajara was the runner-up, and San Jose Tinian\u2019s Leo Epity finished third.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event has been held in the last three years as a collaboration between the Diocese Youth Ministry and The Diocese Health Ministry. Our goal is provide the youth in our diocese a time to gather and play for their respective churches and just have fun in the form of a sports competition.
