Visiting archaeologist Dr. Rosalind Hunter-Anderson will be the featured guest on this Sunday\u2019s \u201cYour Humanities Half-Hour\u201d radio program.
\nHunter-Anderson will discuss a recently completed pilot study to determine the age and composition of ancient Chamorro rock art painted on the walls of the Mahlac Cave in Guam.<\/p>\n
Her work was funded by the Guam Preservation Trust.<\/p>\n
She will talk about the methods used to identify the composition of the paint used to create the images and how one of the paintings was dated using radiocarbon analyses.<\/p>\n
Hunter-Anderson serves as an adjunct professor of anthropology at the University of New Mexico.<\/p>\n
