{"id":30567,"date":"2014-03-24T09:18:32","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T01:18:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tribune.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=30567"},"modified":"2014-03-24T09:18:32","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T01:18:32","slug":"freedom-air-operation-cnmi-now-inactive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/freedom-air-operation-cnmi-now-inactive\/","title":{"rendered":"Freedom Air operation in the CNMI is now \u2018inactive\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FThere\u2019s one less carrier serving the CNMI after it was confirmed that Freedom Air ceased flying to Saipan, Tinian, and Rota early this month.<br \/>\nCommonwealth Ports Authority executive director MaryAnn Lizama said Friday that the company\u2019s liability insurance was recently cancelled and CPA has been not notified of its reinstatement.<\/p>\n<p>She disclosed that based on the notice of termination\/cancellation of policy issued by Kudlich Insurance, Freedom Air\u2019s coverage expired on March 8, 2014. No further correspondence was received from the insurance company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFreedom Air\u2019s activities have been grounded. It has been noted that no activities are occurring on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. No further notice from Kudlich Insurance to cancel the notice of termination and cancellation of policy has been reported [to CPA],\u201d said Lizama during Friday\u2019s board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The cancellation, it was learned, has also been relayed to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Tribune tried to reach the offices of Freedom Air on Saipan, but no one answered the phone lines.<\/p>\n<p>Kudlich nearly terminated Freedom Air\u2019s insurance policy in August last year due to unpaid premiums.
