Although registration has not started yet, the committee in charge of planning the annual islandwide STEM Fair has already Marianas High School to host the event after two consecutive years of being held at the ChaCha Oceanview Middle School. <\/p>\n
In a short interview with STEM Fair committee member Asapmar Ogumoro, he said that they have already decided to declare MHS as the next venue. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe committee wanted to move the STEM Fair around the island every two years. For the last two years, we were at ChaCha [but] now we will be at the Marianas High school, then the next plan is Saipan Southern High School,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Ogumoro said the committee\u2019s priority was if the venue could handle both the traffic and the liveliness of the fair. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt could change but we have to find a venue that can accommodate the busyness of the event and the traffic next year,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Ogumoro could not confirm the actual date of the STEM Fair but he did say that it will surely be held around March as it usually is. Currently, STEM Fair packets are still being reviewed so until it is completed and ready to be released, the committee is refraining from giving an actual date.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re reviewing our STEM Fair packets right now, and once that gets concurred and approved by all the people involved, we will release it to the students, teachers, and parents. Annually, it\u2019s in March. It might be earlier but we haven\u2019t released the packet yet so I don\u2019t want to release any dates until that has been confirmed. It\u2019s going to happen and I know we have students ready to sign up,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A STEM Fair is fair where research or Inquiry projects in any of these areas will be displayed for the public to view and they will also be judged.
