{"id":30600,"date":"2014-03-25T09:35:14","date_gmt":"2014-03-25T01:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tribune.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=30600"},"modified":"2014-03-25T09:35:14","modified_gmt":"2014-03-25T01:35:14","slug":"navy-honors-guam-law-enforcement-support-rob-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/navy-honors-guam-law-enforcement-support-rob-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Navy honors Guam law enforcement for support in rob case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ASAN, Guam<\/strong>\u2014The U.S. Navy recognized Guam\u2019s law enforcement for their assistance in the Nimitz Hill home invasion robbery case during a ceremony at Joint Region Marianas headquarters in Asan on March 20.<br \/>\nRear Adm. Tilghman Payne, commander of JRM, presented a plaque of appreciation to the Office of the Attorney General of Guam and Guam Police Department. Payne said the successful closure of the case illustrated the important partnership between Guam\u2019s military and local government agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuam is home to thousands of service members and their families and many live in communities throughout the island,\u201d Payne said. \u201cThis crime was indiscriminate and the criminals didn\u2019t just take advantage of a military family, but a member of the Guam community. As part of the Guam community, we greatly appreciate the tremendous support we received from the attorney general\u2019s office and GPD that led to the successful prosecution of those responsible for this terrible crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Leonardo Rapadas accepted the plaque on behalf of his office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just try and do our jobs, and to get recognition like this really solidifies the relationship between our communities,\u201d Rapadas said. \u201cWe don\u2019t want to distinguish between the military and the civilian communities. We all live on the same island and we are all working for the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Naval Criminal Investigative Service also presented a plaque to GPD Chief of Police Fred Bordallo.<\/p>\n<p>In the early hours of April 20, 2013, a military dependent was found by her roommates bound, beaten, and unconscious in her home on Nimitz Hill.
