Unbeknownst to many, Saipan and Guam\u2019s No. 1 neighborhood restaurant caters, too.<\/p>\n
Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop, known for its fried rice, has a catering service that offers everything in its bountiful menu and even dishes by demand.<\/p>\n
Dining supervisor Angelito Catungal said the restaurant has always prided itself on its catering service, with Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop a favorite of local and tourists alike on Saipan.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t really advertise our catering service. It\u2019s mostly through word of mouth from our satisfied customers. But you really get quality and not only quantity in our catering. It\u2019s food from Shirley\u2019s, so you\u2019re always guaranteed that the food is really good,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop\u2019s catering service costs $12 per person at a minimum of 50 persons. It includes four main courses, excluding fried rice, your choice of salad or soup, and iced tea.<\/p>\n
The package also includes two waitstaff, who will stay for three to four hours, and set up the buffet spread, like putting up the chafing dishes, tablecloth, iced tea and iced water dispensers, paper plates, plastic spoons and forks, and even napkins.<\/p>\n
So far, the No. 1 choices for their catering service is a package of fried chicken, chop suey, spaghetti, and mahi-mahi, Catungal said.<\/p>\n
Customers have also requested dishes like dinuguan, menudo, and afritada\u2014dishes not found in the Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop menu.<\/p>\n
To make reservations for the catering service, Catungal advises customers to call Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop at least a week in advance.<\/p>\n
