{"id":306740,"date":"2019-08-27T06:00:52","date_gmt":"2019-08-26T20:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=306740"},"modified":"2019-08-27T06:00:52","modified_gmt":"2019-08-26T20:00:52","slug":"50th-okinawa-peace-memorial-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/50th-okinawa-peace-memorial-set\/","title":{"rendered":"50th Okinawa Peace Memorial set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Micronesia Repatriation Association will be hosting their 50th Okinawa Peace Memorial today at 1pm, at the Okinawa Peace Tower in Marpi.<br \/>\nMRA has been venturing to the CNMI for 50 years now, through Pacific Development Inc., to ensure that the people of Okinawa and the people of the Marianas maintain the relationship that\u2019s been established over the years.<br \/>\nOn Thursday, Aug. 29, a total of 17 members of the MRA will be at the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office to meet with Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang. In the evening, the Mayor\u2019s Office and the Governor\u2019s Office will host a dinner party for the Okinawans at the Carolinian Utt in Garapan. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s pilgrimage brings to the CNMI about 140 members of the MRA.
