Go See Mark broke the Chalan Kanoa Bears\u2019 seven-game winning streak after escaping with a 3-2 victory in the 2019 Saipan Baseball League last Saturday at the Francisco \u201cTan Ko\u201d Ballfield. <\/p>\n
GSM secured the win and handed the Bears its first loss after scoring three runs at the bottom of the third inning. The defending champions Bears failed to keep their perfect record in the six-team tournament as they were held to one run each in the third and sixth inning. With their 7-1 mark, the Bears are just slightly ahead of the the Mariners (6-1) in the team standings, while GSM moved up from fourth to third with its 5-3 slate. The Blue Jays (4-3), Aces (0-10), and Rockies (0-1) round out the rankings.<\/p>\n
Lancaster Secharmidal led GSM\u2019s close win over the Bears, as he hit a two-RBI single in the pivotal third inning. Franco Nakamura and Jimmy Demapan reached off Secharmidal\u2019s single and the latter also scored off Jerome Delos Santos\u2019 single.<\/p>\n
Kiku Lizama made the first run for the Bears at the top of the third inning, while Payton Lizama delivered the other run in the sixth. The Bears had the opportunity to tie the game at the top of the seventh and last inning when Henry Lizama doubled with two outs. However, Angel Palacios went down on a 4-3 putout play, allowing GSM to keep the lead and the win.<\/p>\n
In the other game last Saturday, the Mariners defeated the Blue Jays, 9-4.<\/p>\n
The Mariners were down after six innings, 3-4, but battled back and grabbed the victory after making six runs at the top of the seventh inning. Ton Tenorio hit a two-run single in the last inning and also reached off the Blue Jays\u2019 error to lead the Mariners. Eli Augenbaugh, Mark and Jonah Flores, and Manny Villagomez also scored for the Mariners.<\/p>\n
