A man who attempted to jump off a three-story building in Chalan Kanoa after he was allegedly caught sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl pleaded guilty yesterday as part of a plea deal.<\/p>\n
Jordan Robert Tudela, 37, pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. As part of the deal, Tudela will be sentenced to a term of imprisonment not more than 15 years, to be decided by the judge at the sentencing hearing.<\/p>\n
Tudela will also pay a fine up to $10,000, to be decided by the judge.<\/p>\n
Tudela is prepared to accept any punishment and will not be able to withdraw his guilty plea if the judge does not agree with the terms of the deal.<\/p>\n
Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho yesterday set the sentencing for Dec. 4, 2019.<\/p>\n
Tudela is represented in the case by assistant public defender Jean Pierre Nogues. Assistant attorney general Samantha Vickery is prosecuting the case.<\/p>\n
According to court documents, Tudela sexually abused the girl on Dec. 1, 2018. Tudela\u2019s girlfriend told police that she caught the defendant sexually molesting the girl at a residence in Chalan Kanoa. Tudela allegedly begged to his girlfriend not to report the matter to authorities. The girlfriend did so, nonetheless, prompting Tudela to climb atop a three-story building in Chalan Kanoa and threaten to jump off it.<\/p>\n
For over three hours, police officers and other first responders urged Tudela to get off the edge of the building. He was later arrested at the site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
