Bautista)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Max\u2019s Restaurant overpowered Light &amp; Salt 68-61, while Mawati defeated Connie\u2019s BBQ, 65-62, in the 2019 One Pacific Promotional Basketball League over the weekend at the Civic Center Court.<\/p>\n<p>Max\u2019s Restaurant recovered from a poor start last Friday and went all out in the fourth quarter to steal the win from Light &amp; Salt. Max\u2019s scored only 9 points in the first period and made up for it after firing 28 in the last canto.<\/p>\n<p>Ogie Herrera carried Max\u2019s on his shoulders in the fourth quarter, as he scored 13 points in the pivotal frame off multiple 3-pointers and free throws.<\/p>\n<p>Herrera exchanged baskets with Rommel Usi, who tried to keep Light &amp; Salt in the lead in the fourth quarter, but failed. Usi  scored 12 of his team\u2019s 18 markers in the final period.<\/p>\n<p>In last Saturday\u2019s lone completed game, Mawati prevailed in a neck-and-neck duel against Connie\u2019s BBQ.<\/p>\n<p>Mawati clung to a 61-60 lead, with under a minute left in the close game, and hung on in the end, thanks to the free throws of Frank Ferrer and Raymond Velasco and a field goal from Jerome Reyes. <\/p>\n<p>Connie\u2019s BBQ faltered in the tight match, as only Kerwin Dayao scored for the squad after they moved within one.<\/p>\n<p>Mawati managed to escape with the win despite squandering an 11-point lead in the first quarter, 24-13. Kevin Rejano buried three triples in the opening quarter to give Mawati the double-digit lead. However, Connie\u2019s BBQ fought back and kept its foe within striking distance, as Ronald Esmores and Darwin Barbo teamed up in the second and third quarters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday Game <\/strong><br \/>\nMax\u2019s Restaurant 68\u2014Herrera 19, Paynor 19, Salalila 14, Lerio 9, Tibayan 4, Loyola 2, Flores 1.<br \/>\nLight &amp; Salt 61\u2014R.
