{"id":307921,"date":"2019-09-13T06:00:39","date_gmt":"2019-09-12T20:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=307921"},"modified":"2019-09-13T06:00:39","modified_gmt":"2019-09-12T20:00:39","slug":"kagman-health-center-awarded-650k-federal-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/kagman-health-center-awarded-650k-federal-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Kagman health center awarded $650K federal grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Kagman Community Health Center was awarded yesterday a $650,000 grant in operational support by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Health Resources and Services Administration.<\/p>\n<p>The grant is part of the more than $50 million that DHHS awarded to fund 77 health centers across 23 states, Puerto Rico, and the CNMI. This funding provides operational support for new organizations to become HRSA Health Center Program grantees and for existing health centers to establish new service delivery sites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHHS aims to help provide all Americans with access to quality healthcare and, ultimately, improve their health. Community health centers play a vital role in that mission, and in the Trump administration\u2019s vision for healthcare,\u201d said HHS Secretary Alex Azar. \u201cOpening new community health centers and creating additional sites of care is a vital way to help expand access to care and improve the health of the nation\u2019s underserved communities, both rural and urban.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_307922\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-307922\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Alex-Azar-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-307922\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-307922\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Azar<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>HRSA\u2019s Health Center Program New Access Points funding expands access to quality health care services for vulnerable populations.
