(Roselyn B. Monroyo)

AK Toyota and Caravan’s reached past the century mark to clobber their respective opponents in the Atkins Kroll Marianas International Basketball League.

Caravan’s pounced on Aqua Resort Club, 112-55, last Saturday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium, while AK Toyota eased past TanHoldings in last Friday’s curtain-raiser, 107-77.

TanHoldings showed up for its third match of the season with only six players, allowing AK Toyota to break the game wide open late in the second half and improve its record to 2-1. TanHoldings fell to a 0-3 slate.

Alex Lauron top-scored for AK Toyota with his 20 points, while seven of his teammates also delivered double figures, as their team made easy and open baskets against the depleted TanHoldings crew. Jedial Manalo chipped in in 16 points, Rodney Catalla added 14, and Jeff Borja and Brian Nativided contributed 13 and 12, respectively. Jorge De Guzman and Keith Kintol finished with 10 each.

Kerwin Dayao and Dindo Pablo carried the load for TanHoldings with the former drilling 25 points and the latter logging 23.

Catalla hit 9 of his total points in the second quarter, turning a 24-25 deficit to a 56-40 advantage in the first half. Toyota went on to pad its lead in the second half, thanks to TanHoldings’ lack of manpower to match up with the former’s gunners.

Meanwhile, Caravan’s also proved to be too much against Aqua Resort, as the winning team went to work early to set up the rout.

Caravan’s exploded for 30 points in the first quarter to earn a baker’s dozen lead and was never threatened after that.

Ken Viray delivered 8 of his 25 points in the first period to give Caravan’s the early control in the match en route to the squad’s second victory in three games. Aqua absorbed its second straight loss after winning its debut (versus TanHoldings).

Alex Standish also had a solid game for Caravan’s after firing 20 points and a season-best (so far) 23 rebounds. Prince Factor, Patrick Rotap and Josh Andrew were the other double-figure scorers for Caravan’s after posting 13, 11, and 10, respectively.

Friday Game
AK Toyota 107—Lauron 20, Manalo 16, Catalla 14, Borja 13, Natividad 12, Kintol 10, De Guzman 10, Guilas 8, Francia 4.
TanHoldings 77—Dayao 25, Pablo 23, Tenepere 10, Torregosa 8, Deleon Guerrero 7, Lumen 4.
Scoring by quarters: 24-25, 56-40, 78-58, 107-77

Saturday Game
Caravan’s 112—Viray 25, Standish 10, Factor 13, Rotap 11, Andrew 10, Sablan 9, Villarin 8, Rasa 6, Younis 6, Quan 4.
Aqua Resort 55—Ferrer 22, Arellano 12, Maratita 10, Metran 6, Laborro 3, Salazar 2.
Scoring by quarters: 30-17, 63-30, 88-37, 112-55.

AK Toyota and Caravan’s reached past the century mark to clobber their respective opponents in…

[5
4068,7503,2375,16471
post-308060","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-alex-lauron","tag-alex-standish","tag-jorge-de-guzman","tag-ken-viray
["GET
