Bautista)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Marianas High School had a perfect record in the opening day of the 2019-2020 PSS Interscholastic Girls High School Volleyball League after winning all their three matches last Tuesday at the MHS Gymnasium. <\/p>\n<p>MHS 1 bested Mount Carmel School 2 and Saipan International School 2, while MHS 2 prevailed against MCS 1. MHS 1 took three sets to beat MCS 2 and then needed only two sets to prevail against SIS 2. MHS 2 also triumphed against MCS 1 after two sets. <\/p>\n<p>In the MHS 1-MCS 2 game, the Lady Knights eked out a 25-22 victory in the opening set. The Lady Dolphins then recovered in the second set and cruised to a 25-14 win to arrange a deciding third. MHS 1 went on to complete the come-from-behind victory after recording a 15-11 triumph in the third set.<\/p>\n<p>For its second game, MHS 1 this time won the first two sets for the outright victory. The Lady Dolphins registered a 25-18 win in the first set and secured the sweep with a 25-17 triumph in the second.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Dolphins completed the opening day sweep, as MHS 2 nipped MCS 1, 25-23, 25-23.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, three more matches were played in the kick-off with Kagman High School facing SIS 2, Agape Christian School battling SIS 1, and Grace Christian Academy squaring off against Saipan Southern High School. <\/p>\n<p>The Ayuyus defeated SIS 2 in the first set, 25-16 and finished off the Geckos with a  25-10 triumph in the second.<\/p>\n<p>Agape also won over SIS 1 after only two sets as the Torchbearers posted a 25-17 win in the opening set and a 25-16 victory in the second.<\/p>\n<p>The GCA Lady Eagles drew first blood against Saipan Southern, 25-15, and then cruised to a 25-7 win in the second set for the sweep.<\/p>\n<p>GCA will go for win No. 2 today when it duels MCS 1 at 4:30pm on the north court, while SIS 1 battles MCS 2 on the south court. At 5:30pm, ACS will face MCS 1, while MHS 2 goes up against Saipan Southern.
