Bautista)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Agape Christian School\u2019s Kobe Yang and Saipan International School\u2019s Tiana Cabrera ruled the Gecko 5000 held last Saturday in Banzai Cliff.<\/p>\n<p>Yang was the overall top finisher in the 5-kilometer course and topped the boys U18 division after timing in at 19:48. (Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Joining Yang in the Top 3 were SIS\u2019 Kuu Nishimura and Ken Song, who recorded 20:09 and 21:06, respectively. In the girls U18, SIS had a 1-2 finish, as Sofia Osnach came in just few seconds behind Cabrera after posting 24:15. Agape\u2019s Emma Pang rounded out the Top 3 following her time of 24:36.<\/p>\n<p>In other results, Agape dominated the Top 10 in the boys U18 with Ray Qi Jie  finishing at fourth place with his 21:19 and followed closely by Jason Cao (21:46) and Eason Tang (21:51).  Completing the Top 10 were Agape\u2019s Arthur Liang (22:18), SIS\u2019 Samuel Culp (22:19),  Agape\u2019s Abraham Zhu Li (22:46) and Saipan Southern High School\u2019s Joshua Mendez (23:28).<\/p>\n<p>Agape also had multiple finishers in the Top 10 in the girls U18 with Elizabeth Xu (25:23) in fifth place, and Eunice Xu (26:20), Grace Shi (26:59), Alice Yang (27:01), and Vivian Wu (28:31) in seventh to 10th place, respectively. The Geckos\u2019 Anika Sydner timed in at 24:51 to rank fourth, while Dain Lee, also from SIS, finished sixth after registering 25:33.<\/p>\n<p>In the team division, SIS topped the girls category, while ACS prevailed in the boys race. <\/p>\n<p>Last weekend\u2019s event doubled as a qualifier for the Northern Marians Association and Public School System-organized 2019 All Schools Cross Country Championships. <\/p>\n<p>According to SIS headmaster Ron Snyder, in addition to the 21 official runners in the Gecko 5000, there were also 76 high school runners that joined the cross country qualifier, and more than 150 students and parents from SIS participated in the fun run portion of the race.
