{"id":309619,"date":"2019-10-09T06:06:19","date_gmt":"2019-10-08T20:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=309619"},"modified":"2019-10-09T06:06:19","modified_gmt":"2019-10-08T20:06:19","slug":"mcdonalds-donates-5k-to-arc-fundraiser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mcdonalds-donates-5k-to-arc-fundraiser\/","title":{"rendered":"McDonald\u2019s donates $5K to ARC fundraiser"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_309621\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-309621\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/McDonalds-red-cross.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-309621\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/McDonalds-red-cross.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-309621\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">McDonald\u2019s Saipan executive secretary Mable Ayuyu, third from left, helps present a check to the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter executive director John Hirsh, fourth from right, as donation for its Club 200 fundraiser, last Friday at the McDonald\u2019s Middle Road branch.<br \/>(IVA MAURIN)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s Saipan donated $5,000 last Friday to the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter for its 2019 Club 200 fundraiser that is happening this Saturday, Oct.12, at the Fiesta Resort &amp; Spa Saipan in Garapan.<\/p>\n<p>The fundraiser is the NMI Chapter\u2019s 30th annual event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are just really excited to have McDonald&#8217;s again is one of our major donors,\u201d ARC-NMI Chapter executive director John Hirsh said. \u201cThey have been there for us annually during our fundraising events, especially this past year, during [Super] Ttyphoon Yutu.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Yutu happened in late October 2018, McDonald\u2019s Saipan stepped up and donated a lot of food to people that were vulnerable and in need, Hirsh said, and donated a tremendous amount of financial resources to the Red Cross. The resources enabled the Red Cross to help the families that were impacted by the storm.<\/p>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s also feels a \u201cdeep connection and feeling\u201d to the Red Cross.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout any questions, we always jump at the opportunity to donate to the Red Cross,\u201d McDonald\u2019s Saipan executive secretary Mable Ayuyu said. \u201cWe have been doing it for so many years, because not only do they help the community, but they [also] personally touched the lives of our employees especially during the past two super typhoons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ayuyu added that McDonald\u2019s Saipan is grateful to donate to the Red Cross again. \u201cWe always look forward to [Club 200]. They always put on a really, really great and fun event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope the community goes out and support them, because they are not just raising funds for the Red Cross, but raising funds to help out every single person [in the CNMI],\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Club 200, themed \u201cLatin Nights,\u201d celebrates the diversity of all the countries in Latin America. There will be a salsa and costume contests, as well as other fun activities.
